Management Team

Xtensible Technology was founded in October, 2001 by Sam Taylor and Rick McQuaide. Together the team has experience in a variety of aspects of software development as well as proven entrepreneurial skills in forming new businesses.

Sam Taylor - Co-Founder, President and CTO

Sam has over 25 years experience in the software industry. He has held roles in software engineering, software engineering management as well as acted as an independent consultant. Over the course of his career he has been involved with all phases of product life cycle and realizes that putting the customer first is always the top priority.

Prior to Xtensible, Sam held a number of key positions at various technology companies in the Boston area. He started his career in the early 1980's at The Mitre Corporation, a federally contracted research center where he was a Member of the Technical Staff and Team Leader.

After Mitre Sam spent the next several years writing software in assembler language for companies like Interactive Data Corp where he worked on operating system internals and Spartacus Computers working on a TCP/IP protocol stack, as well as various companies in a consulting capacity.

Having been involved with TCP/IP since 1987 Sam next moved into the realm of Windows software development writing TCP/IP enabled applications for companies like FTP Software, Seagate Software, Octave Communications, Puma, Digital Equipment Corporation, EggRock Partners and Breakaway Solutions.

While at Breakaway, a consulting firm that created web-based solutions for startup businesses, Sam was a Director performing the task of Technical Architect on a number of consulting projects. The last project that Sam worked on was www.emetra.com, a London based eCommerce trading platform for nonferrous metals... this is the site that you would go to if you needed to buy 300 tons of copper. This was the first European project that Breakaway secured and it was the first project developed by Breakaway that utilized a J2EE architecture. The Emetra site was later recognized by Forbes with a "Best of Web: B2B" award.

Since starting Xtensible Sam has been the architect and key developer of MLSpulse and MondoPulse. MondoPulse was awarded an Innovation award in November of 2007 by the NH Division of Economic Development. Sam continues to be passionate about software development and providing innovative solutions to business problems.
